Enviroflow - Key Staff

 

People are the key to the success of any business and the quality of our staff is a driving force in the company. Enviroflow Water Technologies has restructured its practices and people along departmental lines.  This has been done to empower individual staff with tangible areas of responsibility so that the company and the careers of its staff can grow together.  Our people have a wealth of broad ranging experience in engineering, wastewater, water treatment, business management and beyond.

 

Directors

Managing Director – Floyde Smith

Floyde has had extensive commercial experience in the automotive, building and construction, transport and recreational sport industries.  He has established and grown his own businesses in these fields as an entrepreneur.  Floyde first began an affiliation with Enviroflow as a sales consultant 5 years ago and soon became an integral part the Enviroflow sales and marketing division before eventually becoming a co-owner of the company.

He brings to the company board a strong hands-on management philosophy which is complemented by a desire to achieve and develop a highly productive management team which can continue to drive the company forward.  His forthright manner and strong leadership has already resulted in a dramatic improvement in the company’s performance since he has assumed the role of managing director in May 2005.

His extensive experience in sales marketing, client liaison and the water industry have meant that Floyde will continue to have a strong direct involvement in the Enviroflow Water Technologies Sales Division.

Floyde’s knowledge and experience in the water industry has enabled him to focus the company on a growth path and under his guidance Enviroflow has continued to capitalise on market opportunities in the sewerage and water treatment industries within the Asia-Pacific region.

Director / Research and Development Manager - Neil Towner

Neil joined the Company early in 1998 as a Sales Executive and has progressed to dual positions of Director and Research and Development Manager. He approaches the industry with enthusiasm and has developed an excellent understanding of the biological processes at work in Enviroflow Sewage Treatment Plants as well as the mechanical and hydraulic features of pumps, filtration and desalination plants.

Neil is a highly respected person within the Water and Wastewater Industry Associations and attends regular industry briefings with technical authorities on the development of new Water and Wastewater Treatment concepts and recycling policies.

Having a mechanical trade background before moving into sales and design, for the past 30 years Neil has been able to applying his mechanical engineering experience to his profession. He has previously focused on equipment sales for which he demonstrated an excellent insight into technical and client requirements.  Through both his technical and customer liaising skills Neil is well placed to head the Enviroflow Wastewater Treatment and Water Treatment Plant Servicing department.

Director / Chairman – Phillip Curtis MTM, B.Bus, G AICD, FAIEX

Phillip Curtis holds a Master of Technology Management, a Bachelor of Business Degree (marketing major and winner of the QIT Marketing Trust Fund Prize), and is a Fellow and graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a past President of the Australian Manufacturers Export Council (AMEC) and is a past Director of the Queensland Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

For the last seventeen years Phillip has provided consultancy services to government, companies and organisations principally in Queensland, but also New South Wales, Victoria and New Zealand.  He is an approved consultant with the Queensland Department of State Development in Business Planning, Strategic Planning, Marketing Planning and Export Planning & Marketing.  Phillip has over 30 years experience in industry and has conducted business and travelled throughout the Asia-Pacific region, Western Europe & North America.

In his professional practice and preceding managerial roles he has engaged heavily in Australia's agricultural, manufacturing, construction and service industries.  He has also attained a firm understanding of business accounting practices & principles. Phillip is no stranger to the water industry having been responsible for the market launch of the original Caroma dual flush water saving toilet systems. He was responsible for all of Caroma’s world-wide export activities.

Phillip has held a long standing relationship with Enviroflow through his business management and strategic marketing consultancy firm Phillip R Curtis and Associates, Business Strategists and Management Advisory Services. As a result of his extensive involvement in both agribusiness and manufacturing industries; when the prospect arose for Phillip to become a financial and managerial stake holder in Enviroflow, a company involved in such a key sector as the water treatment industry, it was opportunity he readily accepted.

Phillip brings a wealth of management and industry experience to the Enviroflow table and he has already had a strong hand in planning and structuring the company’s growth and future directions.

Administration

Administration Manager Debbie Smith

Prior to joining Enviroflow Debbie gained over 18 years experience in managing the financial aspects of a manufacturing company.  She has a complete understanding of the need for accurate and effective accounting systems and records.  With this wealth of background knowledge and experience Debbie is the ideal person to be responsible for managing the day to day running of Enviroflow’s Administration department.

Debbie is responsible for: the management of human resources, accounting and financial activities, payroll, orientation of new employees, staff development, staff assessments and determination of job descriptions.  In addition to this Debbie has the duties of preparing annual estimates of expenditure, maintaining budgetary and inventory controls and making recommendations to management.
